Sticky Fudge Brownies

With bittersweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, cocoa powder and walnuts dotting throughout, this brownie truly has it all!  So this, Friends, is my "make up" dessert for the hubby to take to work.  Remember last week, when I ruined the batch of hot cocoa cookies I was going to give him to take?  (You know, the ugly ones I transformed into the Mini Cookie Trifles for us?)  As you know, I needed to redeem my baking skills after that kitchen blunder and give him something else to share with co-workers at the hospital!
Enter these triple chocolate fudge brownies.
I actually found this recipe on Pinterest, and it didn't disappoint.  Because of all the brown sugar and little eggs or flour, these brownies are for anybody who loves very chewy brownies!  There's nothing cake-y about these babies.  When you take them out of the oven and insert a knife that comes out just almost clean, they are done!  Resist the urge to over-bake them.  The trick is to allow them to completely cool before cutting, if you want them to come out in squares.  If you want one hot and fresh, it would be perfect to make a brownie sundae with ice cream and caramel sauce!

Sticky Fudge Brownies
Recipe slightly adapted from Broma Bakery
2 c. Granulated sugar
1/2 c. Brown sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
3/4 c. Cocoa powder
1/8 tsp. Instant coffee powder (or espresso)
1 c. Unbleached all-purpose flour
2 Eggs
6 Tbsp. Butter, melted
1/3 c. Canola oil
1/3 c. Water
1/2 c. Chopped walnuts, toasted 
1/2 c. Bittersweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. Milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, mix together both sugars, salt, cocoa powder, coffee powder, and flour.  Then add eggs, melted butter, oil and water.  After you mix that well, then add the walnuts and chocolate chips and stir until incorporated throughout the batter.
Grease a 9x13 baking dish.  Pour brownie batter in pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a knife comes out mostly clean when inserted in brownies. (Do not over bake them!) 
Allow to cool for a couple hours or overnight before cutting them into squares.  Eat them right out of the oven if you don't mind a gooey, delicious brownie blob.  :)Otherwise, let cool completely and cut with plastic knife.
