A Dreamy Peach Pie Smoothie

Good Morning, Lovelies!  What an incredible late-summer morning it is here in Kentucky!  The humidity is gone, the temperature is actually cool(!), the sky is clear,  it's Saturday and my husband is off.  I'm so excited!!!  God has truly orchestrated a lovely backdrop for our day together.  There is something in the air that actually resembles the "nip" of fall.  Perfect!  I'm about to start making some Banana -Nut Bread Pancakes for breakfast.  I like to do something special on the days Mr. Cozy is off, and he LOVES these!  First, let me share this smoothie with you!....

Many mornings after my workout, I like to cool off with a homemade fruit and Greek yogurt smoothie! Frosty and refreshing, I think a smoothie is an easy and delicious way to get in some good protein and fiber without making a whole meal.  I just basically dump ingredients that I think would taste good together and whatever fresh or frozen fruit I have, and give it a whir in the blender!  Sometimes I'll add wheat germ, and I always use Greek yogurt because I like the taste and consistency the best.  Also, it has a lot of protein!!

This particular smoothie is a recipe that originated from an Ellie Kreiger recipe from her So Easy cookbook.  I highly recommend this cookbook for inspiring healthy recipes! (I wish she would come back on Food Network!) I did change it up just a bit by using real maple syrup instead of honey and not using any ginger.  I was out of those other items, but this one tasted so good I don't know how it could have been better!

This has to be the best smoothie I've made! It's filled with refreshing frozen peaches, Greek yogurt and warm spices that give this smoothie a delicious homemade peach pie flavor! It's beautifully speckled with dots of cinnamon and nutmeg and slightly sweetened with a drizzle of real maple syrup! I'm telling you, this tastes so good! It's enough to want to get your running shoes on and head out the door!

Peach Pie Smoothie
Vanilla Greek Yogurt
Skim Milk
Frozen Peaches
Vanilla Extract
 Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Drizzle of Maple Syrup
Few Ice Cubes

Sorry Friends, I didn't measure any of these ingredients because I make smoothies enough to know what I like...
Use about equal parts of yogurt and milk, and I like a lots of the peaches with a small drizzle of maple syrup.  You may want it sweeter than I do.  Add a smidgen of vanilla extract,  a pinch of cinnamon, and slightly less nutmeg.  Add the ice last and whir it in the blender until smooth.  Add more milk to thin it out or ice to thicken it.
Enjoy in a frosty glass!
